    Job Summary

    The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP) is seeking motivated master’s students or recent graduates for a dynamic internship opportunity in Vienna, Austria.

    This in-person role offers valuable experience in nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation, and international diplomacy, with a focus on research, outreach, and policy engagement.

    About VCDNP

    The VCDNP is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering dialogue among governments, international organizations, and civil society on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation issues.

    The center conducts research, education, and training to promote effective policies in these critical areas.

    Internship Details

    • Duration: Up to six months, starting October 2026
    • Location: Vienna, Austria (in-person)
    • Stipend: €1,000 per month plus medical insurance
    • Relocation support: Covering airfare or transportation costs, as applicable
    • Applications from women and candidates from developing countries are strongly encouraged

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute an independent research project on nuclear non-proliferation, disarmament, or peaceful nuclear technology applications under supervision
    • Collaborate with senior experts on ongoing research initiatives
    • Contribute to VCDNP events, seminars, and conferences

    • Engage with international organizations such as IAEA and CTBTO, and governmental representatives
    • Assist with administrative tasks and communication efforts, including website content and SEO
    • Support outreach campaigns and social media management
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    Candidate Profile

    • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant graduate program (nuclear engineering, physics, international relations, law, political science, etc.)
    • Demonstrated interest in nuclear security, non-proliferation, or related policy issues
    • Excellent English writing and communication skills

    • Experience managing social media and creating digital content (Canva, Photoshop, WordPress)
    • Knowledge of SEO best practices and website management is advantageous
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
    • Valid work authorization or ability to obtain a visa for Austria
