The Global AgriInno Challenge (GAC) 2026 is now officially open for applications, offering an exceptional international platform for startups, agripreneurs, researchers, and innovation teams developing transformative agrifood solutions for Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Co-organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Zhejiang University, and Pinduoduo, the Global AgriInno Challenge has become one of the world’s leading youth-focused agrifood innovation competitions. Who Can Apply for the Global AgriInno Challenge 2026?

Applications are open to agripreneurs and innovation teams from around the world.

To qualify, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

1. Be registered as a company or legal entity.
2. Have less than USD 1,000,000 in annual turnover.
3. Have operated for less than 5 years.
4. Possess a technology-based solution or business model at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7–9.
5. Provide evidence that the innovation is beyond the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) stage.
6. Have at least one team leader under the age of 35.
7. Commit to active participation throughout the entire programme.
8. Have a solution directly addressing agrifood challenges in SIDS or already piloted in island environments.

Important Notes

• Teams from outside SIDS are fully eligible to apply.
• Preference will be given to teams originating from or led by individuals from SIDS.
• Teams with female agripreneurs are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Only one application per applicant will be accepted.
• The final submission will be considered the official application.

Programme Activities and International Exposure

Innovation for Good Workshops
