The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) Scholarship 2026 is now open for applications, offering international students from developing countries the opportunity to pursue fully funded Master’s degree studies in Malaysia.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia, the MTCP Scholarship is designed to support talented students in gaining advanced academic knowledge and professional skills that can contribute to the development of their home countries.

This prestigious scholarship covers tuition fees, airfare, and living support for selected students pursuing postgraduate studies at approved Malaysian universities.

About the MTCP Scholarship 2026

The MTCP Scholarship is a long-running international scholarship initiative established by the Malaysian Government to strengthen South-South cooperation through education and capacity building.

The programme enables students from eligible developing countries to pursue Master’s degree programmes in Malaysia for a duration of 24 to 36 months.

The scholarship supports multiple study modes, including:

• Mixed Mode
• Research-based Master’s programmes

Fields of Study

Applicants can apply for Master’s programmes in the following priority areas:

1. Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
2. Economy and Trade
3. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
4. Food Security and Agriculture Technology
5. Islamic Finance
6. Law
7. Public Administration and Policy Studies
8. Sustainable and Environmental Science

These fields were selected to strengthen technical expertise and sustainable development across participating countries.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the MTCP Scholarship 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Age Requirement

• Applicants must be below 45 years old at the time of application.

Nationality Requirement

• Must be an international student from an eligible MTCP recipient country.

Academic Qualification

Applicants must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree with at least:
  • Second Class Upper (Honours), or
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.00

English Language Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:

• IELTS score of 6.0 or higher
• TOEFL iBT score of 60 or higher
• Previous degree completed with English as the medium of instruction
