This consultancy opportunity offers experienced researchers the chance to lead a major study on digital sovereignty, civic technologies, and alternatives to Big Tech platforms for civil society organisations globally. The assignment is part of the CIVICUS Digital Democracy Initiative, focusing on enhancing democratic participation and protecting civic space in the digital age.
Applicants must have strong expertise in digital governance, civic technology, and civil society research. Experience with international civil society organisations and knowledge of Global South civic space dynamics is preferred.
Selected consultants will contribute to global conversations on digital sovereignty, civic technology innovation, and democratic participation. This consultancy also supports efforts to strengthen democratic space and protect civil society actors in restrictive political environments.
