Research Residency Program 2027 ·TOKAS

Overview

This program offers artists, researchers, and cultural practitioners the opportunity to conduct in-depth research on arts and culture in Tokyo, Japan, for a residency period of 6 to 12 weeks.

Eligibility

• Professional creators in arts and culture fields
• Significant experience in their discipline
• Strong research or artistic proposal
• Ability to conduct residency-based research in Tokyo
• Must NOT be a student during residency participation
• Duo applications permitted if applicants have previously worked together

Please note that not included are studio space, additional travel within Japan, family accommodation, and external living or travel costs.

• Submit a portfolio (maximum 6 pages for duo applicants)
• Provide two letters of recommendation
