Overview

Simon Fraser University (SFU) offers undergraduate scholarships designed to recognize academic excellence and support students financially throughout their studies. These awards are available to both Canadian and international students and aim to reward students who excel in their studies while actively participating in university life.

Eligibility

• Completion of at least 12 units of standard graded courses at SFU
• Current enrolment in a minimum of 12 units of standard graded courses during the application term
• A minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.50 at SFU

Certain conditions and exceptions apply:

• Challenge, audit, and credit-free courses are not counted toward eligibility.
• Co-op terms (3 units) do not satisfy the minimum enrolment requirement.
• Students with disabilities may still apply if enrolled in 6–11 units, provided they submit verification from SFU’s Centre for Accessible Learning.
• Some scholarships are specifically reserved for Indigenous students.

Benefits

Recipients of scholarships are officially notified in writing by SFU’s Financial Aid and Awards office. To receive any awarded funds efficiently, students are advised to set up direct deposit through the Student Accounts Office.

How to Apply

The scholarship application process at SFU is completed online through the Student Information System. Applicants must follow these steps:
