Overview
This role offers an opportunity to manage communications projects focused on brand transformation for nonprofit and social impact organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead communications strategy projects for nonprofits, unions, and foundations
- Manage client communications, including meetings, check-ins, and correspondence
- Facilitate key informant conversations and conduct environmental scans
- Write and present communications plans, message guides, and insights reports
- Revise strategies based on feedback and ensure timely delivery of all project materials
- Update project management dashboards and support client training sessions
- Assist in campaign projects by reviewing or creating campaign-related content
- Maintain proactive communication with team members and clients
- Contribute to process improvements within the communications department
Requirements
- Proven experience in social impact communications, with a focus on branding, messaging, or campaign strategy
- Ability to diagnose communication challenges and develop effective solutions
- Strong project management and client service skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Commitment to equity and fostering an inclusive work environment
- Ability to work collaboratively and receive constructive feedback
- Experience in consulting or freelancing (desirable)
- Fluency in French (desirable)
- Experience with digital advertising and advocacy campaigns (desirable)
- Background in labor movement, foundations, or global nonprofits (desirable)
- Knowledge of climate, gender justice, 2SLGBTQI+ issues, or reproductive rights communications (desirable)
Benefits
- Salary: $81,000 annually
- 4-week vacation
- Company shutdown between Christmas Eve and New Year’s
- Partial health benefits subsidy
- 4-day workweek (Monday-Thursday, 32 hours)
- Honorarium of $50 for interview participation
Location
Hybrid (primarily virtual with some in-person work in Canada)
