Overview
This role offers an opportunity to lead and coordinate operational research activities across Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) programmes in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of research across SMC-supported states.
- Manage research teams, including data collectors, supervisors, and partners.
- Support development of research proposals, concept notes, and studies.
- Ensure timely delivery of surveys (baseline, midline, endline).
- Translate research findings into programme improvements.
- Support development and monitoring of research budgets.
- Track expenditures and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Strengthen operational research capacity within teams and partners.
- Support training and institutional development initiatives.
- Participate in technical working groups and stakeholder engagements.
- Develop policy briefs and reports for donors and policymakers.
- Ensure safeguarding and compliance with research standards.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field.
- 12–15 years of experience in research/programme management.
- Strong expertise in operational research and data analysis.
- Experience with HMIS systems (e.g., DHIS2).
- Proficiency in tools like STATA, NVIVO, CSPro, etc.
- Strong communication and report writing skills.
- Experience in malaria or communicable disease control (desirable).
- Experience working with government and NGOs (desirable).
