    Founded in 2010, Girl Up works to develop transformative young leaders advancing gender justice through advocacy, education, and community-based action. The organization is fiscally sponsored by the Global Fund for Children and continues to expand its global footprint, with a goal of reaching one million girls by 2030.

    About the Associate, Strategic Pillars Role

    The Associate, Strategic Pillars position supports the operational backbone of Girl Up’s youth programs. The role focuses on coordination, data management, grant support, and community engagement to ensure young activists receive consistent and effective program delivery.

    The successful candidate will work closely with regional teams, youth networks, and internal program staff to manage systems that enable global youth participation and leadership development.

    Key Responsibilities

    Youth-Led Action Support

    The Associate will be responsible for supporting the execution and administration of youth-focused initiatives, including grants and community programming.

    Key duties include:

    • Supporting youth grant administration and payment tracking
    • Maintaining accurate youth and club databases
    • Managing onboarding materials and program resources
    • Coordinating virtual trainings and webinars
    • Monitoring community platforms and updating content
    • Responding to inquiries through program inboxes
    • Ensuring documentation and reporting compliance for grantees
    • Supporting storytelling and impact reporting for global initiatives

    Youth Leadership Programming

    The role also contributes to leadership development initiatives targeting young women and youth activists.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Supporting recruitment and onboarding of youth leaders
    • Assisting with Teen Advisors and global wellness programming
    • Managing curriculum updates and program materials
    • Providing administrative support to leadership networks
    • Offering occasional weekend support for virtual engagements

    Regional Coordination and Operations

    The Associate will work across multiple regions and teams to ensure smooth program implementation.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Coordinating with regional teams across global offices
    • Supporting cross-functional youth programming delivery
    • Ensuring consistency in operational processes and reporting systems
    • Assisting in virtual engagement and training logistics

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    Applicants are expected to bring both technical and interpersonal strengths suited for a global remote environment.

    Minimum Requirements

    • 1–3 years of experience in program coordination, community engagement, or operations
    • Experience working in remote or cross-functional teams
    • Strong organizational and administrative abilities
    • Experience managing data systems, spreadsheets, or databases
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
    • Familiarity with digital tools and virtual platforms

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience in youth development, feminist organizations, or grassroots advocacy
    • Background in virtual programming, webinars, or training coordination
    • Experience working across multiple time zones and global teams
    • Exposure to gender justice or youth empowerment initiatives
