Title: Community & Partnerships Director
Location: Remote (Global, with preference for Global South)

Contract: 12 months, renewable based on funding and mutual agreement
Compensation: USD $5,000–$6,000/month

Global Artivism is a movement led by the Global Majority, harnessing arts and culture to pursue justice, ecological integrity, and collective liberation.
The movement prioritizes Global South leadership, intersectionality, and community-centered strategies, connecting artists, activists, and cultural workers worldwide.
Role Overview
The Community & Partnerships Director will lead the growth and sustainability of global partnerships, regional engagement, and community building efforts.
This senior role involves strategic relationship management, regional network activation, and program support to deepen the movement’s impact across diverse regions.
Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships & Network Development
- Expand and manage partnerships with cultural institutions, activist organizations, and civil society networks globally.
- Develop partnership strategies aligned with movement priorities and ensure Global South representation.
- Facilitate negotiations and represent Global Artivism at external events.
- Establish knowledge management practices for partnership learning.
Regional Engagement & Solidarity Building
- Cultivate relationships with regional artivism networks across Africa, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Middle East/North Africa, and beyond.
- Design engagement activities such as gatherings, dialogues, and virtual exchanges.
- Support South-South exchange and mutual learning initiatives.
Community Strategy & Engagement
- Lead community growth strategies and co-design engagement programs like webinars, meetups, and dialogues.
- Coordinate with governance structures on community health metrics and feedback processes.
- Document outcomes and contribute to reporting.
Strategic Programs & Events
- Lead partnership and community engagement for virtual and in-person programs, including the Global Artivism Convening.
- Build coalitions, steward relationships with funders, and coordinate inclusive participation.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience leading global partnership and community network development, especially within social justice and cultural movements.
- Skilled facilitator with cross-cultural relationship-building experience.
- Familiarity with Global South organizations and communities.
- Ability to work independently with accountability.
- Multilingual proficiency preferred, especially relevant to Global South regions.
- Knowledge of managing an independent contractor career, including scheduling and tax compliance.
Preferred
- Deep understanding of arts, activism, or social justice movements in the Global South.
- Experience managing large-scale international gatherings or networks.
- Knowledge management and documentation expertise.
- Experience with inter-regional solidarity work.
Contractor Status & Work Arrangement
This is an independent contractor role, with flexible working hours and self-managed schedule. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurances, and compliance.
Payments are made monthly upon invoice, with a range of USD $5,000–$6,000.
