Job Summary
The Grants Management Officer leads and continuously improves grantmaking operations at Global Fund for Women for their grantmaking portfolios.
This role ensures efficient, compliant, and values-aligned grantmaking by managing systems, processes, and stakeholder engagement across the full grant lifecycle.
The officer is responsible for stewarding and supporting applicants, grantees, and external partners, strengthening tools, systems, and practices that support gender justice movements globally.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Grant Management
- Manage assigned grantmaking portfolios from start to finish, including tracking funding sources, donor requirements, due diligence, contracting, payments, reporting, and grant closures, with a focus on increasing efficiency and ensuring compliance.
Stakeholder Relationship Stewardship
- Maintain strong relationships with applicants, grantees, fiscal sponsorship partners, participatory grantmaking committees, and internal teams. Ensure the grantmaking experience is clear, consistent, and responsive.
Strategy and Process Operationalization
- Contribute to the development of grantmaking strategies and timelines, gathering input from Program Team leads to align communication and processes with each portfolio’s needs.
Continuous Improvement
- Collect and synthesize feedback to identify patterns, surface recommendations, and enhance policies, systems, and practices while maintaining consistency across initiatives.
Communication and Systems Development
- Develop clear, accessible grantee communications, draft templates, facilitate translations, and serve as a bridge between grassroots groups and programmatic and technical teams.
Systems and Data Management
- Collaborate with the Information Management Team to improve grantmaking databases and tools. Own grantmaking systems and data infrastructure, providing accurate reports and dashboards.
Capacity Building
- Design and deliver training sessions to internal staff and external committees on grantmaking processes, tools, and best practices to foster expertise and confidence.

Key Skills and Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in grants management, operations, nonprofit administration, or related fields
- Proven project management skills
- Experience working with database systems or grants management platforms, preferably Salesforce
- Working knowledge of international development issues, with emphasis on gender justice and social movements
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
Preferred
- Proficiency in at least one of Global Fund for Women’s official languages other than English (Arabic, French, Russian, Spanish), with Arabic strongly preferred
- Salesforce experience
Salary Range
$75,000 – $110,000* (Salary varies based on location and experience)
