Overview
This role offers the opportunity to coordinate and enhance collective efforts on Forest Carbon Markets, contributing to impactful climate and forest conservation initiatives globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on Forest Carbon Markets to FCLP members.
- Develop technical documents, policy briefings, and analyses to support informed decision-making.
- Support annual workplan development ensuring alignment with FCLP priorities.
- Facilitate member engagement and collaboration across workstreams.
- Ensure effective delivery of collective priorities and manage meeting schedules.
- Coordinate with other FCLP functions to support overarching strategies.
- Lead the coordination of the J-REDD+ Coalition, fostering collaboration among members and partners.
- Build and maintain partnerships to advance shared climate and forest goals.
- Promote equitable participation within the FCLP membership.
- Coordinate FCLP participation in key global events such as UNFCCC COPs and regional platforms.
- Support the development of joint messaging and communication materials.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in environment, policy, law, international relations, or related fields with at least five years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of five years working on forests, land-use, climate change, REDD+, or related legal and policy issues in tropical forest countries.
- Experience in forest carbon markets, jurisdictional REDD+, and results-based finance.
- Fluency in English and Spanish; French is desirable.
